Child Protection Policy

Spalding Sparks (Youth) Netball Club is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for children and young people to participate and learn netball.

We will succeed in doing this by :

1.Recognising that all children have the right to freedom from verbal and physical abuse.

2.Ensuring that all club committee members, coaches, staff and volunteers are carefully selected and accept responsibility for helping prevent the abuse of children in their care.

3.Responding swiftly and appropriately to all suspicions and/or allegations of abuse and providing parents and the children with the opportunity to voice any concerns they may have.

4.Appointing a Child Protection Officer who will take specific responsibility for child safety and act as the main point of contact for parents, children and outside agencies.

5.Ensuring access to confidential information is restricted to the Child Protection Officer or any appropriate external authorities.

6.Reviewing the effectiveness of our Child Protection Policy and activities each year at the Annual General Meeting.

WE ARE CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF APPOINTING A CLUB CHILD PROTECTION OFFICER.
